Hi everyone! It’s with immense pleasure that I announce the grand opening of Sigourney Weaver Fan, the first extensive fansite devoted to our beloved Sigourney.
As you can see, there is still a lot of work to do. But do not worry, I’m on it. In the meantime, if you think you can help me out (we are currently in need of writers for a detailed biography of Ms. Weaver, screen cappers…), do not hesitate sending me an e-mail!

Only a few weeks separate us from the release of You Again (Sept. 24) in US theaters, and Buena Vista is clearly working hard to promote this comedy starring wonderfully talented ladies such as our Sig, Jamie Lee Curtis and Betty White. Which means new promo stills and 3 spots featuring the fantastic cast answering fan questions in their own hilarious way. You can watch the spots on YouTube here, here and here. ReelRave offers two brief audio segments from their interview with Ms. Weaver. Sigourney discusses the new footage and some of the bonus features we’ll be seein on the Avatar DVD. Also, she talks the impact iPad and new technologies have had on movies, and what her father would think of it.
Just a quick post to remind you all that yesterday the special edition of Avatar was finally released in 812 American theaters. This brand new cut of the movie contains 9 minutes of never-seen-before footage, including a scene about the history of Dr. Grace Augustine teaching at the Na’vi school.

“I wouldn’t mind doing a few more [sci-fi films]. Look what it did for Sigourney Weaver’s career. That’s a really great path to follow and she’s a really good role model to have. I do wish there were more genres in which women could be represented as what we are — complex creatures who can have journeys and be the heroes and save everything, and also be vulnerable and be saved. I wouldn’t mind being in that category at all.”
